I was wondering if anyone here tips the Schwans driver every time they deliver. I have not tipped him yet but got to thinking perhaps I should. Any thoughts? |

I wouldnt imagine it is required. However if you are happy with his/her service by all means tip. That is a very nice thought. |

Thank you - he never acts like he wants a tip but I wasn't sure what was customary. Thanks for your input. |

Oh my GOD! Lords desperately needs this service! She won't really have to cook, and she won't have to visit restaurants anymore! Hoorah! |

Stop nuvo! That is fricking hilarious, all frozen, preportioned, not a veggie or gourment item in sight, she'll love it. Now if only they had 10 gallons buckets of ranch. Maybe Sysco could do a special delivery for her?! |

I just had a vision, lards of ass, soaking in a tub of ranch, naked, watching wwf with hubby and sharing a bucket of KFC while bitching that the guy that delivered their pizza, extra sauce, xtra cheese. no veggies, wanted a yip. ITS SO ****UNFAIR**** WHen do you guys think that last time loa actually ate a veg or salad? I don't mean one under a sneeze guard with bacos and cheese on it, I mean like mesclun mix, red onion, carmelized shallots, maybe some figs ( I love figs) and a house made balsamic? Never? I bet she thinks the garnish on her plate at crapplebee's is a veg. DO they garnish? hmm... |

Uh, we had garnishes at Applebee's once in a great while. But they did make an effort. |

Back to the OT, I never had Schwann's deliver but I did use a cloth diaper service and I loved my diaper man and I always tipped him. He provided a service by delivering to my home, he was reliable and always came at the same time. I would be nursing my baby and he would knock and I would know it was him, and I would discreetly cover myself and tell him "come in" and he would open the door and set my bag of diapers in the front hallway. He was an older guy, in his mid to late 60's, and he loved his job and it showed. After a few weeks of great service I decided to start tipping him. I also would leave him home baked goodies (I know, it wasn't money, but he was a widower and appreciated the breads, cookies, etc). I really missed seeing the diaper man when my son outgrew the need for dydee service. I also wrote his employer and told him of his friendly service and how reliable he was and how pleased I was with him. If I ran short of diapers that week, all I needed to do was call and he'd be out with more in just a couple hours. That was part of their service plan, but this guy always made sure to get them to me expediently. I believe the plan said it may be 12 hours before a "fill-in" delivery could be made, as the drivers had regular routes. But my guy always took good care of me and so yes, that was another reason I felt he should be compensated. I say, if someone drives to your home and provides you a service and you are happy with it, then by all means, tip. |

A fool and their money are soon parted. Why would you tip someone who is already receiving a wage? |

I have to wonder, gbowen, if you don't hang out on this forum just to be a smartass. At least Lords is funny. I don't consider it foolish to compensate someone for excellent service. If it makes me feel good, and the man pockets a little cash, how is that foolish? Throwing money away is....but I (and some other people here that don't scrape our knuckles when we walk) don't believe that showing some appreciation when warranted means I am a fool by any means. |
