When receiving meals from hotel room service, the recommendation is a 15% tip (standard for most food services). However, the hotel bill often ALREADY includes the 15% precalculated as part of the total. Of course there is a line item to include a tip as well. Am I supposed to or expected to include an ADDITIONAL tip? If so, how much? And why? Thanks for the insights! |

No they have taken the liberty to include it for you. However, I did room service before and alot of people throw an extra couple bucks anyway. |

Beware. In some cases there is a service charge added to the bill that is not paid to the service staff. Best rule of thumb is to ask when placing your room service order.
