Tonight I had a situation that has me a little confused. I took a cab someplace and my fare was $6. I handed the driver a $20 and asked for $13 back. He didn't have the change, so he gave me back the $20 and I gave him the last $6 in one dollar bills that I had. I apologized because I was unable to tip him and he remarked that most people don't tip. Is this true? I always tip my driver. Most of my fares are under $10 and I tip by rounding up the fare to the next dollar and giving them a dollar on top of that. On the rare occasions that my fare is between $10 and $20, I do the same rounding up but give $2 on top. If the driver is handling bags, I give $1 more. Is this customary? |

Okay, iloveny, the only real information you have about this Perceived phenomenon is your own. You urge me not to see white(?) waitresses as racist but then in the same breath you talk about "averages". Again, these "averages" you insist on believing in are only true because of the horrible racist mindset you have that desires to think in racial "averages". I think it's pretty silly to think blacks aren't tipping you enough because we're black. Yes, darling, at the last meeting we all decided to withold that extra one or two dollars from you because of our pure malice and hatred of the service staff. And then what would be the point of holding this belief, so that you can justify your substandard service to blacks? Again, I really don't know what to tell you people. Excellent service is compensated. Disinterested, messy, unduly slow and unattentive service isn't. All of you who sweep tip discrepencies under the rug of your blind white supremacist beliefs (which you can hold no matter what color you are) need to do some real soul-searching. |

You were lucky he spoke English, or some form of language you understood. |
