So I come into work Saturday and they want to cut a server. I'm tempted, but the money is tight. Another server says, "I'll go if you'll let me work your Sunday night." Sundays are slow, so I take him up on the offer. He goes home and parks over a bank envolope with $3700.00 cash! Tells me the next morning and I place my hand out. Common man, you wouldn't even have the money if I hadn't taken you up on the schedule offer. He declined and kept the money all to himself. Guess you learn who your friends are when money comes into play. Can't wait to win the lotto. Revenge is sweet...8P |

Oh, and I only asked for a C-Note. Nothing big. Just 100 bucks and I would have been happy. But noooooo. Greedy little man. |

You could always report him. In most states, you are legally obligated to report lost and found of substantial amounts (i.e., if you find $3700, must report, find a used lighter, you don't need to). |

Voz, peple are so funny (greedy) when it comes to money. I have a coworker, I thought was a friend. He left early it was slow. I think about 5pm he was scheduled off at 7pm. The next day I told him I managed to squeak out $140.00. No great shakes. He said,"I knew I shouldn't have left." I said "No, it was alright I didnt get too busy, it flowed nicely." Silly me thinking he was concerned that it was too busy. he said " I only made $90.00 and I could have made more. I said, " I thought you would be happy one of us made some money." He said " Well you are rubbing my face in it." I wasnt rubbing his face, I honestly thought he would be happy for me. Since we have been very slow lately. I couldn't resist, I had to say it. "You know last Friday when you made over $200.00 I was genuinely happy for you." Its about me, all about me, ME,ME,ME,ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hooray for me screw you. Waitstaff eat their young, I am now convinced. |

Wait, he does YOU a favor by picking up your slow shift, and you call him rude by not giving you money HE found... are you serious? So if someone picks up a shift I need to get rid of, which gives the extra time I need to work on my business... the timing couldn't be better, I hit on a big marketing opportunity and increase my revenues, I guess I should give that person 20% of my business now or something, right? Holy crap, this is insane. You are completely jealous (as you should be) that he picked up $3700, but you are absolutely out of line thinking you have a right to ANY of that money, I can't believe you would even ask. |

and you call him rude by not giving you money HE found... are you serious? I think you need to re-read my post. I didn't call him rude. I would think that by finding 3700.00, he would have been happy to slap a c-note my way for the luck he had in getting the night off. I didn't HAVE to give him Sunday and I didn't HAVE to work Saturday. Just chose to do it and luck would have this guy finding the money. but you are absolutely out of line thinking you have a right to ANY of that money, I can't believe you would even ask. Out of line? Do you think I'm pissed at the guy? This guy is a recovering cancer patient. If anyone deserves the money, it would be him. I asked because we're work buddies. If he was new, or I didn't know him well, of course I wouldn't have asked. But it was worth a try...8P |

vitalryan - You are right on target. It's hard to believe anyone would think they deserve $100 just because in his mind he did something that helped put someone possibly in a certain place at a certain time. vozveratu- So by your analogy if a few co-workers chatted with you an extra 15 minutes after work before you went and bought a lottery ticket and you won $3700. They would each deserve at least $100 of it right. Afterall, if they had not delayed you you would have gotten different numbers and would have lost. When you think of it you would have never won, what is, $100 to each of them for what they did for you? Sarcasm obviously, but same type of situation. |

Umm, Lottery is a bit different. I can say the old lady in front of me should get some of the money because she drove slower. Since the guy came up to me in the morning and put his hand out to thank me, it would surmise that he has agreed with me that it was my choice that made the situation happen. It's hard to believe anyone would think they deserve $100 just Deserve? When did I say that? I'm beginning to think the trolls on this board are not trolls, but the other way around. Quit putting words in my mouth. |

You could always report him. In most states, you are legally obligated I can't do that. Would not be nice. If he is happy in finding money that could be someone's life savings, that's his deal. |

Voz, I feel ya. No you didnt earn or demand, or dont even feel you are "entitled" to that money. It would have been a decent thing to do, a kind gesture, a thoughtful gift. Now we are reading a bunch of stuff into a thought you had. Now on the other hand what about that poor soul that lost the money? I would be heart broken if I lost almost 4 grand. I dont know how he would go about locating that person. Really that would be the most decent thing to do. Putting the proverbial shoe on the other foot. |

I agree Jammie. Here is a break down on people involved. Me - Don't deserve any of the money, but it would have been nice for the lad to share the wealth. Would I have slapped a c-note down if the shoes were reversed? Maybe...probably, but I'm not the one who found it, so why bother with the question. Him - Recovering cancer patient, been sick alot and still coming into work. Guy has been through a lot and plans to move up north with his sister to help with his condition. This money helps him with his move. Person who lost the money - Now this would bother me, and to tell you the truth, it would have been harder for me to keep the money than the above said guy. Could have been someone's car money, bond money, hospital money, life savings, etc. Course it could have been drug money. Who knows? We all live with choices and he chose to keep the money AND on top of that, not share. No biggy for me. I don't get a c-note and I continue working like every other hard working American does. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise. Maybe someone comes for the money and if he had given the c-note, I'd be up creek. |

Then why was he thanking me for allowing him to go home Saturday night? You still didn't answer the above question. You don't know the whole story, which I guess is my fault. The manager asks me if I wanted to go home. As you have repeated, I was tempted. Then Guy comes over and say, "If you want to stay, I'll go home." I was still unsure, but then he chimes in and says, "I'll work your tomorrow night." So I say sure. Hmmm, ok. Your right. It was him who made the situation happen, but I was involved I tell you! I WAS INVOLVED! GIVE ME THE MONEY! GIMME GIMME *WHAAAAAAA* 8p |

Voz words get twisted alot on this board. Cant say anything on here without someone going on a tanzie craze! Lots of freakin cat fights I'm noticing... sadley it was more interesting (and friendly) when it was Lords... atleast you could see some humor out there... SOME people on here are very tight assed and looking for a fight at all times. (already got my ass whoopin for something that I did foolishly some 20 plus years ago) learning to keep my mouth closed, better yet learning to find its just better not to come here.... sorta like what Lords did to Coorslite.... someof us can only handle asses and trolls for so long... better things in life to do than catfight with idiots!! anyhoo.... I see your point and without screwing up the text, I know what ya mean... yep! I too think a buck or two would have been nice! but ya can't even dream on here without getting ripped apart!! Oh well.... out to water my garden instead! Have a great day! Who knows maybe the guy will "surprise" you in the long run! |

tipqueen, thank you for understanding why I don't come here that often anymore. No one can understand what we go threw but us! That said... the people that are trolling this board lately can not seem to hold a conversation without it turning into a fight. They fight with themselves! Not missing the split personality comment! Poor voz was just throwing something out there for a response from us humans. Not some lords clone that thinks they know everything about anything. Discussion. Agree to disagree. Respect a persons opinion. How tough is that? No these people are not in the business. Don't know us... yet scream and yell at all of us how we are stupid, lazy, uneducated.... whatever! We know. Too bad they don't. Could almost feel sorry for them but you can't teach the unwilling to learn! Miss you all! Karin |

I'm with Karin.. Every single thread is turning into a flame war... It's a waste of time lately to bother opening a thread. ~"What if they gave a war and nobody came?"~

Seems like no one can get along anymore. Why is that? We all know what we do. But there is no way we can stand together if the trolls tare us apart. My dream is to win the lottery and I PROMISE that it will be million dollar checks in the mail to all of us! There isn't any use in my heart for all the mean things going on here. No one was demanding money. The question was... and maybe I'm wrong on this... what would you do? Me... if I'd been the one that found the money, depending on where it was tried to find the owner. If I couldn't do that, Definately walked in and split it with the FRIEND that covered for me... Sorry just how I am. Wait now what was the question? Human nature, getting along, compassion for someone, sharing the wealth?????????? I give up! Will be back when we can have some fun! |
