Look what I found on Bitterwaitress. She's a nut! "When I need my server, if I can't find someone else, I usually go up to him while hes at another table and tell him that I need my check. This happened last week at Chillis. My husband and I were really full and wanted to leave, but the server forgot about us and was taking an order at another table, so I went up to him and asked for it. He looked mad. Why don't servers go IN ORDER? We were there first, and we'd already been there for over an hour, and then we have to wait extra to get our check?" "Well, it hurts my FEELINGS to watch a server get things for other tables when I was there FIRST. It is that simple go in order! I don't see WHO in the WORLD would want to watch their server take away dirty plates into the kitchen when he could be getting drinks. It's about not wasting TIME and pleasing the CUSTOMER" She actually thinks its ok to walk up to a server at another table. That is NEVER ok Lords. It's rude. If you did that when a server was taking my order I'd tell you to sit the hell down. |

They are PRETENDING to be me. So, this week I actually registered as LOA. I HONESTLY NEVER WROTE THIS, HONEST. I don't write like that crazy stuff. I wouldn't have stayed at a restaurant that was like that. See, since I wasn't registered, posts are popping up that I am NOT writing. Go and try it for yourself, I bet you can post something with the name "Lords" unless it is registered already. You will see what I am talking about. ANY of the unregistered users can just posts something with the same name as someone else because they aren't registered. I HOPE you will try to post something with the name Lords to prove to you that I am telling you the TRUTH. See, NO ONE can be me here, because I am REGISTERED. Unless they would figure out my password, that would be the only way on this site. |

I agree that it's rude to interrupt a server at another table. Lords' post begs the question, though: What would you recommend a patron do, when he or she has finished their entree, had their plates cleared, and is still waiting upwards of 15 minutes to obtain the check? And is it unrealistic to expect that the patron not feel somewhat abused in such a case? I've had this happen to me a number of times. My normal course of action is to locate the host/ess, mention discreetly that I've been waiting for a while to get my bill, and that I'd like to settle up. This usually produces a bill within a matter of a minute or two. Please don't misunderstand; I'm sensitive to the pressures of the server's work environment, especially when it's busy. I'm much less likely to be discomfited by a delay in getting my bill when I know my server is busting his/her butt to handle a large number of tables. However, I don't normally dine during the busiest hours at most restaurants, since I put in a lot of hours at the office when I'm away from home. As I've mentioned in other threads, I dine out from 3 to 5 times per week, and often more. When I'm done with my meal I just want to leave, since I'm often exhausted (especially on travel days, where I've been up since 2:45AM to catch a flight). Is it reasonable form to request the check when the entree is delivered? That somehow seems dismissive (and therefore rude) to me, and I also worry that refills and satisfaction checks might not occur because my table is effectively "done." Thanks . . .

jenaclaree "Lords Unregistered User (8/13/05 11:29 am) Reply PROVE A POINT -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am proving I can still posts with this name. neveraserver Unregistered User (8/13/05 11:30 am) Reply Proving a point -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is LOA proving a point that I can posts as another person. This is PROOF that I actually posted under a DIFFRENT NAME. I HONESTLY didn't write those posts that you quoted from bitterwaitress. Try posting from the Lords name on bitterwaitress and make up a password. I bet you can posts something there with NO PROBLEM like I did with "neveraserver." I just posted from that name neveraserver and that was never my name on bitterwaitress. I just picked some unregistered user at random to prove a point that it ISN'T me.

No, porkrind...that's okay. Just tell the server when you order that you're really tired and you'd like the check with the meal. It's no biggie, and they won't think you're rude. BTW, your table isn't considered done until you pay. They'll be back around to *at a minimum* see if the check is ready. And, your normal course of action *finding a host/ess* is perfect. Very polite, and very well-mannered. Thank you. As for lords, she's admitted interrupting a server while they were at a table...and I do not mean the post mentioned above. Had she interrupted my server, she and I would most likely be headed outside. "Serenity now, insanity later!"

You chose the username Neveraserver? So you finally admit you were never a server. You have said before you go up to servers when they are in at other tables. I don't doubt you wrote this. Also I'm not going over there to post as you. I don't need to prove anything to myself. |

jenaclaree "You chose the username Neveraserver? So you finally admit you were never a server." NO, I picked that an UNREGISTERED USER at random. I HONESLTY am just posting with ANYONE'S name that is an unregistered user. That is it. I didn't even notice how the name was spelled even, I just copied and pasted it each time I wrote it. "Also I'm not going over there to post as you. I don't need to prove anything to myself." That's because you KNOW I am RIGHT and you don't want to prove me wrong, which you CANNOT do because I just posted with a name that is already on there as someone else. I don't know Neveraserver. |

No I don't care if you're right or wrong. Only you do. You've had enough posts for me to know it's something you would say and do. You only think you have manners. You don't. You're very concerned with how you get treated but not with how you treat others. |

In response to Lords of Acid; >>>That's because you KNOW I am RIGHT and you don't want to prove me wrong, which you CANNOT do... Lords...ive been reading your posts for months now...and you havent been right yet. Ive shown your opinions to other people and you are so far off base that they usually burst out in laughter. Frankly...I find it disturbing how bizzarre your opinions really are....your like a car wreck on the side of the freeway...you dont want to look but morbid curiosity drawns your attention. |
